If you use the Google Home app to view your camera or doorbell video history, you can save events as video clips to your phone.
If you have an older camera or doorbell on the Nest app and aNest Aware-Abo, you can use the Nest app or the Nest web app (home.nest.com) to create, download, and share video clips.

The table below shows some differences between the Home app, Nest app and Nest Web.

1You can only download video clips of events detected in the video history. You cannot download video clips of footage without activity. The maximum clip length setting for your camera or doorbell affects the length of video clips.

Download a video clip
observation: You can only download video clips of events detected in the video history. You cannot download video clips from recordings without activity. The maximum clip length setting for your camera or doorbell affects the length of video clips.
Follow the steps below to create and download a video clip:
- Open the Home app.
- Choose your camera.
- To knockHistoryat the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll to an event in your camera's video history timeline. You can also typefull storyfor a list of events.
- Select the desired event and tapevent details.
Tap at the top of the screenDownload 
to save the video clip to your phone. From there, you can share the video clip via email or social media app.
Nest-App
You can store up to 3 hours of video clips in the Nest app. If a clip is too large to store in the remaining storage, the app will let you know that you're out of storage. You must download and delete clips to free up space before you can save a new clip.
observation: If you want to share the app clip, you need to share it when creating the clip. Otherwise, if you want to share the clip later, you'll need to use a computer to share from your account.home.nest. com.
Create a snapshot clip
When you create an instant video clip, the app looks for the start and end of the activity near the selected time, creates a clip of that activity, and saves it in the app.
- Open the Nest app.
- On the home screen, select your camera.

- To knocknew clip
to automatically create a snapshot clip. It will take some time to create your clip and save it to the Nest app. - Choose what you want to do with your clip:

Create custom clips while watching the live video stream or after rewinding your video history.
- Open the Nest app.
- On the home screen, select your camera.

- A popup will appear saying “Your clip is ready. Watch your clip.” Dialwatch your clip.
- When you're satisfied with the clip, selectConcluded.
- If you are not satisfied with the clip or want to choose different start or end times, selectextinguishto erase it and goTurn back start again.

- Mouse over an event on your timeline. A popup appears with a clip of the event.
- To choosenew clip .
- Sliders will appear on your timeline marking the duration of the activity or event.
- You can drag them forward or backward to adjust the start and end times of your clip.
- Name your new clip and select itsave not computer.
- A popup will appear saying “Your clip is ready. Watch your clip.” Dialwatch your clip.
- When you're satisfied with the clip, selectConcluded.
- If you are not satisfied with the clip or want to choose different start or end times, selectextinguishto erase it and goTurn back start again.

Make a time lapse
You can create a time-lapse similar to ordinary video clips. You can condense up to 24 hours of video into a time-lapse.
- Go tohome.nest.comand log in.
- Select the camera that recorded the video you want to use.

- Sliders will appear on your timeline. Drag them forward or backward to choose your clip's start and end times.

Observation:If you change the duration of the time lapse, the start and end times will not change - Name your new clip and select itsave not computer.
observation: If a video is missing from the time-lapse you created, you may not have selected enough video history to fill the entire duration of the time-lapse. - Select the clip you want to preview and it will open in a pop-up window.

Choose one of the icons at the bottom of the video window to share your clip. Select the Facebook, YouTube, Twitter or Nextdoor icon to quickly post your clip to any of these social media sites.

- To choosecopy ofand paste the link where you want to share it. Anyone with the link can view your clip.
Important:A shared link can only be viewed on a computer, it cannot be viewed on a phone or tablet. If you want others to be able to view your video on their phones or tablets, we recommend sharing it via Youtube, Twitter, Facebook or Nextdoor. - To chooseDownload to save the clip to your computer.

Observation:You cannot recover clips once they have been deleted. Make sure any clips you want to keep have been saved to your computer before deleting them from the Nest web app.

- Select the camera you want to delete clips from.

- Hover over the clip you want to delete and select itTrash .
observation: If you want to preview the clip before deleting it, select on the clip and selectSpielen.
